Aaron West

Engineer

Aaron West is a skilled musician working as a recording and live sound engineer, performer, and educator based in Tampa, FL. Originally from Greensboro, NC, he grew up surrounded by music, with exposure to the industry helping develop his skills from a young age.

Aaron earned his undergraduate degree in Audio Recording and Production from Appalachian State University and his master’s degree in Jazz Performance from the University of South Florida, preparing him to be a leading force in the music industry. Through recording studio internships, assistant engineer experience under Tom and Jim Morris, music education, and professional experience as a performer, he brings a high level of technical and musical expertise to every recording session.

Outside of working at Morrisound Recording, Aaron is on faculty at USF serving as the jazz saxophone professor, teaching private students and various classes including music theory, music appreciation, and audio production. He also performs around Florida as a professional saxophonist, with gig experiences ranging from beach bars to major music festivals. When he’s not in the studio, on the bandstand, or teaching, Aaron enjoys spending time outdoors surrounded by nature and wildlife.
